Crisis Assistance

As the premier organization representing the global fruit and vegetable industry, PMA is actively involved in issues that affect the full distribution chain, the marketplace, or consumer issues.

PMA is committed to defending the image of the produce industry, particularly when the safety or healthfulness of produce is questioned. When a foodborne illness outbreak linked to fresh produce is identified, we inform our members via Issue Alerts and initiate media monitoring to observe trends in press coverage. We also assist members with key messages they can share with customers and consumers who may have questions.

In addition, PMA members have access to our staff who have crisis management and communications expertise.
