Dr. Terril Nell, professor and chairman of University of Florida’s Environmental Horticulture Department was named the 2011 Floral Marketer of the Year on Friday, October 14, by the Produce Marketing Association (PMA). Nell was also recognized for helping key suppliers with problem solving quality issues and handling procedures while never losing sight of the realities industry members work with each day. He effectively pioneered research work in the area of post-harvest physiology and educated all participants within the supply chain, which has been a key component in helping the industry meet and exceed the experience of the consumer.
